The NCMLA supports organizations that promote our goals of a more equitable, just and sustainable North Carolina.
We are currently working with The States Project to break the supermajority currently held by Republicans in the North Carolina state legislature. Republicans were able to get a supermajority for one reason: NC House Dist. 112 Rep. Tricia Cotham switched parties only five months after being elected as a Democrat!
As a result, North Carolina’s abortion rights have been restricted, laws making it harder to vote have been enacted, environmental protections have been eliminated, and millions in tax-payer dollars that should go to public schools have gone towards vouchers for private & religious schools with no accountability.
Join us and put your dollars where they’ll do the most good…at the state level! Donations made to the States Project will go to work immediately putting canvasers on the ground in winnable swing districts throughout North Carolina.
